How Do You Create the Perfect Marketing Agency?

You have to agree that it makes sense, don’t you?

Let’s consider, just for a moment, the alternative, popular choice for a marketing agency, Facebook advertising management.

This is a high skill based, high learning curve, high touch point, high time consumption prospect to manage and maintain. It also has a high value when done right for the end client and a truly skilled practitioner can be rewarded very handsomely.

But…

How long would it take you to simply become proficient at Facebook advertising and all that it entails for managing and maintaining this for clients?

It can be a long time and for some people, it can take at least 6 months if you're a fast learner and you get lots of practice.

However, for most regular people, it can take as long as three years just to become competent.

Please don’t mistake me for bashing on this as a viable service offering for any marketing agency because I’m not.

What I am saying is that is it not always the best place to start, especially if you are at the newer end of the spectrum to business and marketing.

If you already have this skill set, fabulous.

Assuming that you don’t already have this skill set, then it would be significantly better for you to start with a marketing service that has:

1. A low skill level.
2. A low learning curve.
3. Low delivery and maintenance time.
4. Has a high monetary value and perceived value.

This is what we mean by the Perfect UnHustled Marketing Agency.

Setting up your agency in this way means that you do not have to sell your time for dollars. It also means that you can scale and grow your business quickly because you have the time to devote to those activities.

It also means that should you choose to exit your agency and sell it or merge then you have an asset that is not “single point dependant,” which is just the fancy way of saying you are not the bottleneck in your business and can exit without conditions to stay out for several months or even years during the transition.

How do you find low skill level services with a high value to offer?

Assuming that you will be delivering the service at first, this is essential to find because we do not want to get one client and then spend all your time servicing that one client.

In our UnHustled agency program, we talk about setting up a LinkedIn lead generation service which has a low skill dependency and shallow learning curve, especially when compared to setting up a Facebook Advertising Agency.

What we also discuss at length in our UnHustled agency program is a concept called a solution stack.

This is where we explain how to leverage other people's knowledge and those higher skilled services without the need to be the person doing it. You just need to be the person who can find and win clients.

You can easily hire out or hire in skilled people to deliver the services you need to grow your offerings or you can simply stay with one high demand service solution and go really deep on the expertise.

Personally, I’m a big fan of going deep on a few things rather than try to be everything to everyone. It also means you can be seen as a clear expert rather than a jack of all trades, and consequently, keep your prices justifiably high.

For example, for some lead generation services we offer, we can easily charge $1,500 per month to grow a targeted network for our clients as well as start the conversation with the right type of people for them.

The best part is that after the setup, the ongoing maintenance is low as the majority of what we do can be automated. Which meets the criteria of low skills, low time investment, but high rewards making for a truly UnHustled business.

Get clients fast with built-in proof that it works.

Did you know you can use the same process to find your own clients that you will also deliver to your clients?

One of the side benefits of starting out with the UnHustled agency process is that there are absolutely minimal out of pocket expenses needed to start using this for yourself to find your own clients quite literally from day one.

The Perfect UnHustled Agency

This exactly why a high skill, steep learning curve such as Facebook ads is the wrong place to start AND what you should really do to ensure maximum agency success from month one.

Let me say that again: you can get started finding clients from day one.

When we are speaking with potential clients a common objection is “will this work for me?” And because you are using the same process you can literally pull the curtain back and say that the only reason you are talking is because of the same process that you are offering to do for them.

Built-in proof.

Whenever this does come up for me in conversation there is often a short silence as they take in what was just said. I usually take it one step further and give them the two minute version of what we did so they understand what happened to them first hand.

It then becomes really easy to ask “would you like me to do this for you and your clients?”

The best part is they know it works.

There is so much more that I want to tell you about to help you create the perfect UnHustled agency and what I've outlined in this high level overview is just the tip of the iceberg. For many this is enough to get your mindset and agency direction following a path to fast success and even quicker growth.

If you need more help in a step-by-step fashion, then we have a whole program dedicated to getting you up and running from day one with your first or next client fast. When you're ready you can learn a little more about it here.
